Hey! so before updating my macbook pro my sims 4 wasn’t acting right so I uninstalled it and realized I had 3 updates with my laptop and that’s what I did and when I try to reinstall everything back it says Origin doesn’t "no longer" support my version of Mac OS and that can download the previous Mac OS 10.7 or 10.8 but at the bottom it says Mac OSX 10.9 or later. When I do download it, it tells me Origin need to update but it won’t. What should I do? I have enough space on my laptop.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update:
We've noticed that players on certain browsers were unable to download an install Origin on Big Sur. This issue has been resolved on January 18th and you should be able to download and install Origin again.
I'll lock this topic as no further reports were posted about this happening and to prevent necroposting.
Thank you for all the reports and examples <3

@truehomie21 Origin does work just fine in Big Sur. I'm guessing you're downloading through Chrome? (Or maybe Opera.) The problem is that the web page is only reading the minor version of your OS and therefore assessing it as too old for the standard version of Origin; that's why you get pointed to the legacy version.
You can either download Origin through Safari or Firefox, which don't have this issue; or you can use this direct download link:

My origin is doing the same thing. I have to right click the icon to bypass the loading screen in order to open and play sims 4

@witchkevin and @faythsmith123 Try running the Origin reset tool for macOS:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
And make sure you don't have a proxy enabled. Here's how to check:

@witchkevin It may also help to disable the Origin technical preview: click Origin in the upper left corner of your screen, then Preferences, and under the Application header, scroll down to Client update and disable the option to participate in technical previews.

I wouldve never thought to try safari tbh. It worked. Thanks so much!

I have the latest MacBook Pro M1 V11.0 and have not had luck installing the Origin Application.
When prompted to install a version for 10.7 and 10.8 compatibility, the application directs me to contact Origin developers. I am assuming, due to my computer being new, they have yet to upgrade their compatibility requirements. Just hoping that someone out there is experiencing the same thing as me and that someone may provide me with some clarity.
Hoping to download my base game and expansion packs again.
