ledkeeper.exe flagged by Origin Anti-Cheat

★★★ Novice

Origin is flagging ledkeeper.exe as cheat software which is an MSI/MysticLight app. I don't want to uninstall my PC LED software in order to play a game.

Hi there,

Could you let me know what you mean by Origin flagging this as cheat software? Are you getting an error message, if so where and when?

If you have it, a screenshot would be helpful.

Thank you,

I get to the point when it's 'left-click' to continue in Apex Legends. When I click, I get the below error and game shuts down.

It's the RGB software on our RAM. For some reason, your anti-cheat thinks flashing lights on our RAM sticks = a cheat. I want to play your game just like OP, but if your software thinks I'm cheating just because my RAM lights up, then I'll skip your game on principle. Let's get this fixed.

Your software thinks my MSI motherboard RGB control software is cheating software, this software is the motherboard's own software, I can't shut down or uninstall, because your software thinks my LEDKeeper. Exe is cheating software, so I can't enter the game, please kindly solve this problem and let me join the game.Below is a screenshot of the question.

Hi there,

Easy Anti-Cheat is third party software that some of our games use to combat cheating. You can find more about the program, here To clarify, this is not related to Origin.

We've since provided feedback that some unintended programs seem to be marked as cheating. This is not something we're able to resolve directly, so I'd recommend to manually disable any software that does get highlighted, so you can continue playing our games.

this is one of the reasons I've stopped buying and playing ea games, i agree it not your problem but these are games you sell and support, so it's part of your problem

Is there a fix around this that does not involve disabling or uninstalling my RGB software. It is ridiculous to believe that I cannot play a game because my RAM lights up. I understand EAC is not your program but Apex is your game and I should not have to deal with this to run my game.

Will installing an update from the application work, @freelibya3?

Perform a clean boot of Windows, to find out which (in background) running applications cause the trouble: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
Also, see this list: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/programs-that-may-cause-conflicts-with-origin/

You're running software that cause security violation with the game.
Another applications can hitch hike with it, insert malicious code, modify game data files, or run other applications / tools to cheat. Even you don't want to cheat, this measure things you're doing it.

@RealSimmor0 We know what the issue is and it's EAC flagging LEDkeeper.exe which is a provided by MSI for controlling the colors of the LED for RAM. Having to disable this software has basically turned me off from playing anything that runs EAC. For some unknown reason, EAC has not fixed this and EA isn't doing much to support. I've stopped playing Apex because it's not worth the effort to keep disabling normally running software.
