i forgot my password to the helper tool thing

Hello, i'm busy trying to go on the sims (on my mac) but the helper tool pops up. I have tried all the main passwords that I usually use but none of them worked. Is their a way to get my password back?

You need to enter the password for your user account on your Mac, the one you enter when you start up your Mac and log in.

There was an issue recently but it had been fixed. You can read the thread here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/Permission-Required-Helper-Tool-Error-Mac/m-p/4917270#M177378

Nevertheless, please use the Origin reset tool and then download and install the latest release of Origin. If that doesn't work use the reset tool again and download the beta build of Origin linked to in the thread above.

@Bluebellflora This still doesn't work! I log in with one password and the same password doesn't work when prompted to install the helper tool.

Is your account an administrator account or a standard/parental controlled account?

@Bluebellflora My account is an administrator account. So i log in with one password but yeah, still doesn't work for the helper tool. Pretty stumped.

It's an issue that has been around on and off for years. Going to move this to the Origin forum so it's more visible to the Origin team (hopefully).
