So yeah, almost 2018.

Brand new computer for my daughter, new installation of Origin and still got the error trying to install The Sims 4.

Did everything the admins said, nothing helped.

And it's funny to see that this topic is marked as Solved. Nice.

This issue is not solved.

It has gotten worst for me with every single Origin update.

My computer far exceeds the specs and yet I can't even launch TS4 anymore after today's patch.

This is ridiculous!  I have tried every single thing from uninstalling, clean rebooting, giving permissions, starting as admin and nothing is working today.  In the past, starting as admin would eventually fix it but not today.

My game is grayed out and I cannot launch it at all.

It's definitely not solved. It happens every time I have to update Origin. It then makes me update The Sims 4, which then gives me this error and tells me to try again later, but there's never an option later to try the update again and I can't play the game. I tried to repair the game, and it just got forever stuck on finalizing.

This is why I don't update Origin if at all possible. It just breaks everything.

2018. I've right click on Origin on desktop, properties, compatibility, set compatibility for windows 8. This is on an Alienware laptop

Hello, I fixed my Sims 4 game when this error code came up. All I did was:

1. Run the Origin Shortcut file on the startup screen as admin.
2. Go back onto Origin, went to the Sims 4 game and clicked settings.
3. Click repair on the settings.
4. Once done, restarted my pc (EA is known for having to restart your PC after you have done something on there).

5. Once the PC had restarted the game played with no problems at all.

Hope this works and helps.

Had the same problem with it not working in safwmode but try right clicking on the game and press the repair in origin, then it suddenly worked.

Check if you got still some space on your C: drive or other drive, where Origin downloads your updates. Origin as default downloads to C: .
