You do realize that a VPN will not prevent applications on your computer from sending data home? (If such a feature is integrated in the application)
A VPN will hide the starting point, but that's all, the data is still send.
It is much more likely that the installation failed because of an IP check.
idk why this * company would not put this as an option under their downloads, due to this retardation i will not be spending money. So although this did work i uninstalled it, thanks though!
My solution has a different approach.
Check if your home network is marked as private.
You can change it in the network settings.
If you have your home network tagged as public these problems arise asides of otherrs in some applications
