THIS was my problem too, apparently EA-games loves to mine our information and if we use a VPN service to prevent this (VPN cannot be backtracked to you unless the company gives permission) then we are NOT allowed to install xD
what collossal "frels", in any case all you do is just disable the VPN while installing, then it should work
You can always enable the VPN afterwards :P

You do realize that a VPN will not prevent applications on your computer from sending data home? (If such a feature is integrated in the application)

A VPN will hide the starting point, but that's all, the data is still send.

It is much more likely that the installation failed because of an IP check.

I finally got it to work using this origin installer.  None of the other fixes worked

My solution has a different approach.

Check if your home network is marked as private.

You can change it in the network settings.

If you have your home network tagged as public these problems arise asides of otherrs in some applications
