This is the only thing that worked for me. And yes, I have been using a VPN as well, so the problem was that. (referring to message #49 on page 5 btw)

I can confirm VPN is the culprit. Even if VPN is turned off, the bug stuck.

Origin today is FAR WORSE than Steam released 16 years ago.

EA, if you can't make a proper game client, just f_cking use their steam service.

I deleted the /AppData/Local and /AppData/Roaming Origin folders and restarted Origin and it worked. I just had to re-log my username and password. Thanks dude.

open task manager and be sure there are no instances of origin running, I thought i'd closed all mine, but task manager said differently!

Also be sure you have no origin games running - might sound obvious, but yea.. i forgot i'd opened bejewled! lol
