Very Slow Download speeds. I have a 500mb Connection

I have a 500mb connection and I'm getting 0.8mb/s downloads. What's the problem? Is there a solution. R&D mode: No difference. There is no advanced option under setting to enable safe mode downloading. Firewalls are not a problem. So EA, before you copy and paste the regular list of things I've seen you paste in every forum post please give me a real solution.

UPDATE - down to 300kb/s and dropping ....... arrr me maties.....
