Sims 4 won't update [ Edited ]

so i have the sims downloaded and when i try to click play it says that theres a new version that i have to update and when i click update nothing happens. no load no nothing. is there anything i can do?

@babyg1rll  I split your comment into its own thread, since the other thread is about problems adding the game to an account.

Try clearing Origin's cache (Windows) or running the Origin reset tool (macOS).  Then reboot your computer and see if the game will update.
