So, a couple of hours ago, I had just finished installing the Sims 4. It has been stuck on finalizing for 3 hours now, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that, but either way I would like it to hurry up and finish so my download queue can continue.

Hi @its-nep
Clear Origin cache https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/origin-my-games-list-is-blank/
Delete temp files: open the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Search field or click in the Run option in the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Run field.Press Enter and a Temp folder should open. You can delete all files found in this folder, and if any files are in use, they can be skipped.
Restart your machine.
Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2
NOTE if your issue persists go to the Origin client, click on Origin / Application Settings / Diagnostics- and from there enable Safe Mode Downloading.
My Opinion is no more important or right than yours.I'm a gamer like you, trying to help you (i'm not an EA employee).
If you want to know us or/and come up with ideas to improve the Origin platform or/and talk about anything and many more besides, you could also visit the NEW section Origin General Discussion http://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/bd-p/origin-general-discussion-en

Thanks for this. I just finally got Windows 10 on my gaming desktop. I dont play sims 4 but this looks like the same problem I'm having with all of my games. Literally all of them get stuck on finalizing. Will try this and I think it will work.

Where is temp i dont have it

Low key so annoyed right now because spent 10 hrs downloading
March 2019
But did it download after those 10 hours? Like... are you annoyed because you wasted 10 hours when you could've done those steps or did you wait 10 hours and then go online for solutions and barely saw this and got annoyed and did it afterward?

I had a similar issue with the Sims 4.
Only solution I found that worked:
Delete the Electronic Arts folder and the Origin folder in %ProgramData%
Delete the Origin Folder in %AppData%\Roaming
Delete the Origin Folder in%AppData%\Local
Delete every file in %Temp% and just click skip for anything that is running already if you get a pop-up
Go to "Uninstall A Program" in Control Panel
Uninstall the game you are trying to play
Uninstall Origin
Restart your computer
Install Origin again and launch it
It should discover your game files, install the game, and it will be playable (Hopefully).

Verified that this still works if stuck on verifying. Just delete the contents of the %temp% folder, reboot and open origin again
