Sims 4 stuck on finalizing after download

I've seen similar questions with many answers and I think I've tried all of them. I've tried clearing my cache data, allowing origin in my firewall, running origin as administrator, reinstalling origin, ect.

Nothing has worked for me, my download still is finalizing, even if I leave it for hours. I might get a new PC late December and was wondering if i should try and fix it now with another method or just leave it until I get my new PC? I'm currently using windows 7, but since about June it's been running fine until now.

If anyone can help me with something that actually works, I'd be grateful, thank you Standard smile

Hey @Catie8697083 if it is stuck on resuming then you need to ensure that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

 

The ports to open are:

  • TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
  • UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.

Hey @Catie8697083 you should be able to find a step by step guide to opening the ports if you search online. Alternatively, you can speak with your ISP who would be able to walk you through the process.
