I have this same issue. I can't update my OS I have programs that I need for work that will crash if the computer is updated.
Besides some people stated they updated and still have the issue so I don't want to risk crashing my programs for nothing.
This really sucks. Is there any other way to get this to work?

I assume you're still on Yosemite?

I'm on OS X El Capitan 10.11.1

Please could you look for the following files and tell me if they are there:
Macintosh HD > Library > LaunchDaemons > com.ea.origin.ESHelper.plist
Macintosh HD > Library > PrivilegedHelperTools > com.ea.origin.ESHelper
You really should update El Capitan to 10.11.6 for security reasons. Updating may also fix the issue as a corrupted OS files(s) may be at fault. Updating also repairs Permissions.

I have the same problem and I could not find either of those files.

I don't have any of those files on my computer. Also updating is not an option.
The things that are on my laptop that will possibly crash if updated are more important to me than games.
