Password Expires So Fast

I'm trying to play Sims 4 on my Mac and when I go to login it says that my credentials have expired and I need to reset my password. So I do and that works, however the window for expiration is 5 days or less and that feels excessive. 

Is this an issue that can be resolved? 

Am I able to lengthen the amount of time before it expires? 

Its a minor issue but is really frustrating and I shouldn't have to reset my password almost every time I want to play.
