just bought the sims 4 (disk) and it won’t install on my pc at all. I’m running windows 8.1, when I install it states I need origin first. So I install it through the disk. It then states that that origin has stopped working, I have tried to install this for the past 3 weeks. Sometimes it will install the it says that “MSVCR120.DLL is missing" then when I try re load origin it’s trying to update and takes 2hours and crashes half way through! Can anyone help me I really want to play the game spent over £45 so far trying to play it and having no luck don’t no what els to do

@jamest215  Please use these guides to clearing Origin's cache and uninstalling Origin "the hard way" to remove all Origin-related files from your computer.

Restart your computer, download the full Origin installer, and run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."  This is a direct download link:

The MSVCR120.dll is part of the 2013 Visual C++ runtimes.  They should be installed automatically when you install Origin, but given the error you're seeing, it's better to download and install them manually.  Uninstall your current copies first, if you have any.

Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft 2013 Visual C++ Redistributables, click on both the x86 and x64 versions if you have them, and select Uninstall.  Leave the other years' copies alone.  Then download and install new copies from Microsoft:

Be sure to install both the x86 and x64 versions.  You can skip the _arm version, which is for a different class of device.
