Haven't logged in to Origin in a while. After entering my credentials, all I get is an error stating: "We're sorry, but we're having some technical difficulties. Please try again later." I have been trying for more than a week. Is Origin dead? Will I ever be able to play my Sims again?

Hello again @hammy_gman
I can suggest clearing your internet cache. This differs a little how it works for different browsers. Here's a guide for at least the browsers I can think of off my head right now :
Chrome :
Firefox:
Edge : https://www.wiknix.com/how-to-clear-cache-and-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-browser/
Safari : https://support.apple.com/kb/PH21411?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Other than that.. Make sure nothing on your end is blocking the Origin such as a firewall or a virus scanner. On this guide close to the bottom there is at least a small list of programs known to interfere with Origin, a good guide to read in general : https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/connection-issues-with-origin/
Next advice would be to use a different browser. There is a good reason to keep around always at least two browsers for troubleshooting reasons. Oftentimes Chrome works fine, but it's good to have Firefox and Edge around.
Then I would suggest uninstalling your current Origin, and installing again. Here's a guidance how to uninstall your Origin safely. Only uninstall the hard way if uninstalling and installing it first won't work : https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/
Then download it again from a fresh source, and be sure to run it as an administrator (Right-click the installer once downloaded, choose "Run as administrator") while installing if using Windows : https://www.origin.com/en-us/download
Let's see if this brings us anywhere.

Hey @hammy_gman
Origin surely isn't dead, and you surely will get to play The Sims again. It seems you are just having some local technical problems which need some checking by the support.
Contact the EA Support from here and try to get yourself to a Live chat with an EA Advisor : https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/
Choose region from the top right, Choose Origin as your game, PC/MAC platform whichever you use, Technical support, Game won't launch, and then just click the "Select contact option" .
For more information how to contact the support, in case you want to give for example a call to them through VOIP : http://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/How-to-contact-an-Advisor-via-EA-Help/td-p/5650100
Good luck !

Thank you for the quick reply @RedFoxxie.
I was able to contact an EA advisor through live chat and tried a couple of things: clearing game cache, and clean install of drivers.
Alas, I am still getting the same error. Any other suggestions?
