Origin using HTTPS for Downloads

the domain that the origin client pulls down updates from is 

ssl-lvlt.cdn.ea.com  8.240.41.252 

ssl-lvlt.cdn.ea.com.c.footprint.net [8.240.41.252]

it looks like it will not fall back to http if port 443 is blocked from firewall it will not try and use port 80.

can we do a cname to another domain to make the client try http?

Or do what Other companies have kept their CDN's working over HTTP, I am hoping EA can do the same. Riot/League of Legends detects if the CDN IP is an RFC1918 address and it falls back to HTTP if so. They have recently changed their system to download a secure hash manifest over HTTPS first, just to guarantee the files are not tampered with. This should remedy any security problems.
