Hi, just gonna chip in. I had this same issue just now.

My friend asked me if I wanted to play, I told him I'm done for the day and he says "But you're still in game and in a match". But my game has been off for a couple of hours. He even saw my characters change every once in a while as if picking different legends in different matches. I tried logging out but it did nothing. Changing my password seems to have fixed it though.

I'm also having the same issue. My friends are constantly asking me to play with them even though i'm at work or sleeping. when my computer is offline and closed, i mean and everytime i open my computer again, it vanishes. it creeps me out, thinking that my account is hacked or something. though, everytime this happens my in-game hours are not going up and what i've seen from screenshots from my friends, i'm stuck in apex legends' main menu.

Any news on that issue? I'm experiencing the same problem and I must say it's pretty frustrating cause people contact me while I'm at work (or doing other stuff) to play....
