Origin's download speeds are a fifth of what I can get on steam

Pretty much what the title says, download speeds on origin never go higher than around 10.5 mb/s. The problem is not my internet connection, as I can routinely achieve over 50 mb/s when downloading through steam on the same network. My download speed is set to unlimited. What the hell is going on here?

If you are seeing slow downloads @PinkPrincessRei then please try the following steps:

• Disable all background programs on your system (including Steam). You can also do this with a clean boot
• Temporarily disconnect all other devices that you don't need from your network
• Use a wired connection
• Make sure Origin is accepted in your anti-virus and firewall
• You can also try using Safe Mode Downloading via Origin which is under Application Settings, Advanced
