In Settings, I disabled the web helper and tested. Now it closes even though it still pops up with the error message, but in about a second, it shuts down anyway. I'm guessing that add-on is causing the suspended state. Origin -> Application Settings -> (scroll down) Startup Options: Origin Helper Service -> Ensure off. Then restart and see if it automatically closes in 1 sec (it still says it's preventing shutdown, but closes after a sec.)

Seems to be enough for me. Unsure if this was stated before.

I suddenly started to get that error , after following up all the solutions the problem was fixed for a single shutdown... and here we go again AUG21

Same here. Issue just started a day or two ago. Origin locks up the shutdown process, then crashes and prevents the PC from shutting down.

All hardware tests come up fine, as does my software and windows install. This issue is something wrong with Origin and clearly hasn't been fixed in years. Come on EA, it's bad enough that you don't allow us to launch single player titles without updating (or going into offline mode).

Fix your app. We know you're aware of the issue since it's been here for years. We see that moderation is clearly active in this thread. Can someone please work with us to fix this?

I had this problem on my previous Win10 installation.

I now have this problem on my brand new, fomatted Windows 10 installation

This thread has been going on for a long time and nothing has been fixed.

THIS PROBLEM IS REAL, EA, IT'S REAL AND IT'S BECAUSE YOU MADE IT.

Advising People to use CCleaner is not the correct approach to fixing your bad Software.

Advising people not to use your Bad Software is probably a more polite and effective way of solving this.
