Origin issues

Bought Simcity4 for my son for Christmas on disk - but wouldn't work on PC - after googling I understand its because we have windows 10.  So worked out going on to Origin and purchasing it through that but still can't get it to work.  It won't let me download Origin - keeps saying missing MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll.

I've tried all the things suggested on here (the best I understand) but nothing working.

I have no technically knowledge - so can you please help me in laymen's terms - ie. press this press this!  Just want to run the game for my 7 year old!

@kljhjfgviuodhg9  Those files are part of the 2015 VC++ runtimes, which Origin needs to install properly.  It's best to uninstall your current copies, if you have any, and then download new ones from Microsoft.  Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributables, click on both the x86 and x64 entries (if you have them), and select Uninstall.  You can download new copies here. Be sure to install both the x86 and x64 versions.

Restart your computer, and try to install Origin again.

By the way, you may be able to convince EA customer support to add your disc copy of SimCity 4 to your account, although I think it's hit or miss these days.  There's no harm in trying though.

Thanks - got Origin working now but when try to launch game (Simcity4) it just brings up EA Games logo and then crashes and goes back to Origin again - any ideas?  Sorry know nothing about gaming!
