Hi,
So basically i installed and purchased the sims 4 last month on my laptop, have gone to start playing and the same error message keeps coming up whether i click on the game or whether i try to launch origin itself,
It basically says:
The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.
I haven't altered anything or done anything any different
Does anyone know what the cause could be?
Any help is appreciated

This issue is caused when you have an outdated VC++ installed. It can be fixed by running the installer from the Origin installation folder which can generally be found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin
From this folder, run one of both files:
If you get the message that the files are already installed then select Repair.

EA David:
Can I get some system information from you, it may help in determining what's happening here. Fortunately for most people the update has gone smoothly, but something's amiss for you.
Can you post your Windows version and what anti-virus you're using?
You can find your Windows version in your dxdiag.
As for fixing this issue, as in Crinrict's link you can try installing the VCredist packages from the install folder. Rather than the game's folder, you'll find them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin.
Try running the vcredist applications towards the bottom of this folder and let us know how you get on.
