Origin boot up screen won't load (even with SSD)

[ Edited ]
★ Guide

Hello! Yesterday I was playing Sims 4 on my computer and wanted to go to my desktop. A notification showed up on the side of the screen (I use windows 10) and wanted to get rid of it. I did - the taskbar wasn't working to get back to the game. Neither did Task Manager work. I tried to log in more than 5 times during the day still nothing happened. The news / feed / chat / game library / etc. couldn't load. On laptop it does perfectly. I even tried booting my computer again still nothing happened regarding the boot up screen. I use an SSD which means Origin loads faster than on laptop. (with 8GB of virtual memory)

Running as administrator/compatibility issues didn't work at all in order for me to solve my problem with the Origin boot up screen.

Any help must be appreciated, thank you!

EDIT: Even re-downloading the setup from the Origin website and logging in to my client again it still does the same with the boot up screen not loading.

Sorry to see that you are having issues @mikrolactaki3. Let's try clearing the Origin Cache to see if it helps fix the issue.

You can clear the Origin Cache by following the steps below:

  1. Completely log out and close down Origin
  2. Hold down the Windows key and R
  3. Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  4. Now open the Origin folder.
  5. Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one)
  6. Hold down the Windows key and R
  7. Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  8. This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder
  9. Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window
  10. Open the Local folder here
  11. Delete the Origin folder listed here
  12. Restart your PC and log back into Origin

Let me know how you get on.

@EA_Darko It's now fixed. What I did was completely uninstalled and re-installed Origin on my PC. For my safety I moved both Sims 3 and 4 folders to the desktop. When I launched Origin my games ran well. Before uninstalling Origin I attempted deleting the cache, nothing happened. Thanks for the solution!
