Origin app crashes upon launch in Mac OS X Yosemite

Okay, yes, we need our money back.  This is particularly inexcusable.

Just wanted to add that I'm also having the issue of Origin not opening on Mac OSX 10.10 Yosemite.

same thing over here,  tried to launch origin app but it crashes before  typing account or anything else. Tried to reinstall the app several times but no way always the same story. Hope to have any answers as soon as possible since i purchased simcity and i cannot play anything. frustrating is tyhe word

I have had the same issue since I installed Yosemite.  I can work-around it by launching Origin after logging out and switching to a different user on the same computer.  I also tried the modification to the preferences file to set it to go to the games tab as described above, but that did not work.  It still crashes immediatly after the login window appears if I try to start it from my primary user account.  I also tried removing all the application support files to force the program to create new default files, and I get the same result.  Crash Code: 0b5

I appreciate you posting the work around solution about creating a new Admin account, but this is unacceptable. We're paying this company money and they don't deliver on their end of the deal. Congrats to you for getting through to support though. I was hung up on twice (both times I just answered the phone and said 'hello'...click!)
