So tonight after playing Sims Superstar for a while I decided to play Sims 3 and as always Origin is going through some dumb update. After downloading an update an error would pop up "HOLD UP! AN UPDATE IS REQUIRED. The version of Origin you are no longer supported. Please update your operating system to Windows 7, macOS 10.9 or newer in order to install the latest version of Origin and continue playing the games in your library." (The games in my library are Sims 3, Sims Medieval, and Sims 4, I'm frustrated that I can't play my games they have always lagged a little bit but I have never had any issues on Origin like this before. This is also very strange because I'm running Windows 10). I tried to go to the live chat but I can never get there in time for the available hours. If anyone could help that would be amazing. Origin is really getting on my last nerve. Also sorry for the low quality image or if it doesn't show up, I'm kinda new here. Any information on my issue would be greatly appreciated

@jpst23 This message is often caused by an oudated version of Origin that can't update itself. Please clear Origin's cache and then uninstall Origin "the hard way," which should not affect your installed games.

Restart your computer, download the full Origin installer, and run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator." This is a direct download link:

Run Origin as an admin as well, at least until you know it's working.
