I would have just added this to another published topic, but since it is on a Mac, I figured I need to ask for help outside them. When I open Origin I get gray loading boxes. Nothing will load. I can't open my sims game. Literally nothing works. I've had someone from Origin fix it last year. I don't want to mess with Origin if I don't have to, so this is why I am asking for help here.
Basically, last year, someone from Origin took over control of my computer to get the games to work because for some reason, origin and the sims weren't working. So they fixed it. Now that it isn't working again, I am scared to do anything because I don't want to ruin what they did. So please help me!

@xxMinkle Start by running the Origin reset tool for macOS:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
If that doesn't help, please make sure you don't have any proxies enabled. Here's how to check:

Please also try disconnecting any external hard drives or USB devices; be sure to properly eject them as well.
More troubleshooting steps specific to macOS can be found in this post:
If none of that helps, create a new admin user account on your Mac and try launching Origin through that.

@xxMinkle What version of macOS do you have? If you're not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen and select About This Mac.

@xxMinkle Well, at least Origin is doing its part. For the Sims error, pull your entire TS4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. Try to launch the game; if it works, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Play for a bit, just to make sure you can load CAS and live play (no need to save your progress), and then you can copy the contents of the Saves and Tray folders from your old game folder to your new one.
Here's a complete list of all the files in your game folder, in case there's anything else you'd like to keep:

If you still get the Sims 4 is already running message even after removing your game folder from Documents, let me know.

I had the same problem with grey loading screens for origin on Mac and I was checking if I had proxies enabled but the page could not be found? What do I do if the rest origin tool isn't working?

@ssaavyyy This page can't be found?

I loaded it fine just now. But if you can't, you don't really need to see it. Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen, select System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies, and uncheck any you find. (You need to be using an admin account to do this.) Please keep in mind that proxy settings are specific to the type of connection you're using, i.e. you can change the settings for wifi without affecting ethernet.

I had this problem too. I tried literally everything. Then, I just software updated my mac and origin started working again! if nothing is working that might be a simple fix!
