Origin Thin client installer has a bug with missing DLL's on clean new Windows 10 installations.
It will not run if it is the first software installed.
The error is: Missing MSVPC140.dll

Installing Office 365 locally fixes the dependency as expected by installing the missing DLL's.
Afterwards I as able to run Origin thin client installer.
Of course the installer should not require that some other installer has been run first to pre-install dll dependencies.

Yep, same problem trying to download Origin thin. Saw the comments here and realised I could do the same by downloading MS Word, which I needed on my new PC. After that it was, aside from the time it took, easy peasy. Thanks for the tip. Don't you all think that Origin could do something about that, even though it is not their fault?

This is 100% Origin's fault.
They never tested the installer with the latest windows 10 and a clean windows install.
It is easy to fix, but they need to release a new version of their thin client installer.
