Origin In-game Overlay doesn't work

The in-game overlay does not work whatsoever. i have reinstalled origin a few times and even had it run as admin. but the overlay in-game doesn't work at all..

@robotman5 Just to check, is your Origin in-game enabled? You can disable/enable Origin In Game if you go to the Origin menu in the top left corner of the client, then Application Settings and Origin In game.

Do you have any other program running such as Discord which has an overlay, if you do can you try disabling it and then seeing if the Origin Overlay works.

Yes it's enabled in origin settings and i disabled the overlay for discord ( i never used that anyway) it just never seems to work in-game. i tried it in PVZGW2 and Sims 3, it does nothing.
