Origin Crashing After Logging In

★★★ Newbie

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could help me.

As of 18/04/19 I have been unable to access Origin, I last successfully logged into Origin on 15/04/19 and between these two dates, nothing changed with regards to my drivers, windows updates, etc. as far as I'm aware there was an Origin update on the 16/04/19 which I suspect may have been the issue. When opening Origin, it comes up with the splash "Connecting to origin" then crashes.

I have tried the following fixes:

  • various compatibility options (e.g. DPI Scaling Behaviour: System, ~Windows 8, run as admin, etc.)
  • clearing origin caches
  • complete uninstalls of origin, removing registry entries
  • different install locations (SSD, HDD)
  • using less than 1080p resolutions
  • and finally, a complete fresh install of windows 10

I'm really just looking forward to playing some BFV with my friends.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Only thing i can see you have not tryed is anti virus app ( blocking or allow list )

does the Uplay work now ? i can see 1 crash with that
rest is Origin.exe

try add Origin to allow list and game.exe its self.

the clear cache is it that way with EA doing it or CCleaner ?
same with regi issue ?

connection issue

I do not work for EA.

Sorry to hear that you are having issues @lllllIIIIlIIlIII. Can you try disabling your anti-virus and firewall and trying again to see if it makes a difference?

If not can you try setting your mobile phone as a hotspot and test to see if connecting through it allows Origin to load?

Let me know how you get on.
