Origin Client Not Loading

★ Novice

Since the last 2 updates(as of August 19, 2019), I have been able to login to Origin but cannot get online. It gives me the same message: "Well, that didn't go as planned. Origin encountered an issue loading this page. Please try reloading it – if that doesn’t work, restart the client or try again later."

I've tried re-installing Origin but the same message pops up and now my games won't download/update/open. I thought that with this last update, EA would have gotten its * together and fixed this bug but NO. I honestly don't know what to do other than wait for EA to fix it at some point.

Hey @armothy-forever you should be able to fix this issue easily enough by clearing the Origin cache.

You can clear the Origin Cache by following the steps below:

  1. Completely log out and close down Origin
  2. Hold down the Windows key and R
  3. Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  4. Now open the Origin folder.
  5. Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one)
  6. Hold down the Windows key and R
  7. Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  8. This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder
  9. Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window
  10. Open the Local folder here
  11. Delete the Origin folder listed here
  12. Restart your PC and log back into Origin

That's not good to see @vanculloden19. The good news is that generally, this is a pretty easy fix.

Let's start by ensuring that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

The ports to open are:

  • TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
  • UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.

If the issue is still there wil you try clearing the Origin Cache again, ensuring that you follow the steps exactly.

  9. Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window
  10. Open the Local folder here
  11. Delete the Origin folder listed here
  12. Restart your PC and log back into Origin
