Use the same account details as used when first installing the game. If you cannot remember these details then you can reach out to an EA Advisor:

Re: [HOW TO] Backup/restore any Origin game WITHOUT downloading

★★★ Newbie

Hi Sarge_T Thanks for this post.

My pc crashed and I need to hopefully migrate some of my games from that hdd to a new drive. I don't know if your method will also work under these circumstances, although the pc crashed I can still access the drive, that was question 1.

Question 2 is; In point 2 in Backup you write  "Make sure to have Cloud Storage enabled for easy migration, as game settings/saves are not located in the game folder, and thus not copied over.
You can enable/disable Cloud Storage per game or in general in the origin client: Origin->Application Settings->General->Cloud Storage"

The games I need to migrate are not "Origin/Cloud"  games, so how and where would I then find the game settings/saves of these games?

So now that there is a new version of Origin, there is no "Advanced" button to select where my files are.  How do you now move your games from One HD to another?

Thanks

Can you give an estimate as to how long it will take to check after resuming download?

Hello Team,

It was a simple fix for me. here is what I did:

  1. Change the location of Game Installs to desired drive
  2. Install a new game from Origin
  3. Now Go to C: Drive "Origin Games" and cut the Games (In this example Battlefield 1) you would like to paste them to the new destination
  4. Go to Origin and click on the Game (In this example Battlefield 1).
  5. It will ask you to install the game, simply click yes
  6. It will find the already downloaded and installed game in the new location and will take a moment to settle it there

Simple yet efficient way to do it.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Re: Moving My Origin Games To Another Hard Drive

This doesn't work if you dont have enough space for the game twice (i.e.it won't let me install because it thinks I don't have enough space after I move the game to that drive).

Anyone know a solution to this?

@Green_Lizzerd The download/save location can be changed now in Origin - Application Settings - Installs & Saves.
