Origin Client - Error 16:1

Trying to update Origin client but it gives error 16:1. Have exited, restarted comp still not working. Anyone know a fix? Cheers

Hey @mummydog6498 that error points to something blocking Origin on your system. You need to ensure that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

The ports to open are:

• TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
• UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.

I'm having the same 16:1 error code.  I'm not sure where to look to find out if its being blocked by AVG.  Where would I go to find out?

You can perform a clean boot from Windows, @melissaardoin.
In this way, you will disable the background applications that will also start when Windows is started.

Hi, I have been having a problem with my origin loading up. At first it said it needed an update so I tried but the error code read: 16:-1. I removed the app and all the folders thinking if I re-downloaded it, it would work. I am still getting the same error number and saying "the installer encountered an error". Any one know about this??? It's super frustrating
