@taxdollarsPlease try this:
Open the Terminal. Either via Spotlight search, or from /Applications/Utilities/Terminal
In the terminal Window, try following:
ls -l /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools
This will list the contents of the folder PrivilegedHelperTools
then try:
sudo touch /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/test
This will ask for your password and then create an empty file called “test” in the mentioned path (provided you have sufficient permissions)
then you can remove it again via:
sudo /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/test
I’m curious if you are able to read the contents of the folder and if you are able to write in there. It may be just a permission issue for the installer.

@hvisegvsdkhfg Thanks for the assist! I might have done it wrong, it never asked for my password. Attached is a screenshot of what doing what you suggested resulted in.

Hello,
i wanted to open my origin account to play the sims 4.
Origin said i had to download a 'help program'.
I had to give my password to give permission to download the program but it wont download and origin asks the same question over and over again.
I downloaded origin trouble shooter and this came out.
I hope you guys can help me!!

@floorvwijk I've merged your post into the master thread for this issue. Thanks for running the script; I'm sure the information will be helpful to EA.
Just to check, you're trying to use your computer's password to grant permission for the helper tool, right? Your Origin password won't work.
Anyway, this thread will be updated if and when there's any news about the issue.
