MSVCP100.dll missing in windows 10

★★★ Novice

I just had my laptop upgrade to windows 10 and then when I tried to start Origin, it said the subject DLL was missing.   It was there for 8.1.  Can it just be reinstalled, or did they change something that causes this to need to be deleted?

Thanks

Jim

Hello everyone,

A missing MSVCP100.dll file refers to a version of Visual C++ 2010 being damaged, or not installed on the system. This version is available directly from the Microsoft website to repair the file:

32 bits version:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=5555

64bits version:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632

Download and install both the x86 and x64 versions. If a message pops up stating that the versions are already installed, then instead choose the repair option. Restart the system once the installation or repair is complete.

If further MSVCP or MSVCR errors pop up then then follow the exact same steps for other versions of Visual C++ via the Microsoft website:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003

Hello @Tigerheart55

Perhaps you need to update or reinstall Microsoft's Visual C++ Redistributable Package. Please Download and Install it here  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

After, reboot your PC and Test.

Hello,

I have the same problem when I try to run Origin. But after install the software indicated in the post below it still has the same problem Frown

But I've checked and I have the file  MSVCP100.dll inside C:\Windows\System32\, but also there are other similar files, like MSVCP110.dll and MSVCP120.dll. So, perhaps the problem is Windows 10 use by default the newest  version of this file. But I don't not how to change it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

UPDATE: the problem is fixed. I did it by, first, uninstalling all versions of MS Visual C++ Redist packages. Second I unsintall Origin. Third: I reboot Windows and I reinstall MS Visual C++ Redist 2013, both for 32 and 64 bits.

I had to download the installer from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30679 then it worked.

Running the vccred files in the BF4 folder did not work.

I followed all the suggestions re re-installing Visual C++ and none of the worked for me. What did work was removing all versions of Visual C++ and the Origin client | Rebooted | Installed the Origin client which itself recognised that Visual C++ was missing and installed the relevant versions itself. I now find I have Visual C++ 2010 x64 along with Visual C++ 2013 x86 and x64. Hope this helps.
