Hello, I've uninstalled and reinstalled origin and have cleared the cache but I have been unable to get origin to launch on my 2017 MacBook Pro, I've not seen any other posts about this issue with Mac users.

You can try Safe Mode https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT201262 maybe helps to resolve your issue.
