looks like downloading older client will let it connect via HTTP not HTTPS
the new client looks to have a bug or they should have a way in the client to select HTTP over HTTPS
they should not need HTTPS to deliver updates.

I have been playing Sims 4 on this old Lenovo computer for quite a while now. I decided today to start using a MacBook Air OS X Yosemite to play.I was so excited and the right when I pop into Origin it gives the lovely message of:
Apologies for the inconvenience, we’re currently unable to retrieve your list of games. Please reload and try again.
I. Have. Reloaded. AND. tried again. an unacceptable amount of times!
I just wanna play sims man!
I know this is a fairly old issue but can somebody help me!?

@ElloMate555 Your particular issue is actually a new one, or at least a new version. EA is tracking the problem and asking for Origin logs from affected Mac users; the details are in the initial post in this thread:
It would be great if you could upload your logs, as described.
In the meantime, some (but not all) users with Yosemite have been able to get a legacy edition of Origin to work. You can pick up the conversation in the same thread, starting here:
