I recently installed Origin (version 10.5.26.8488) on my new computer, and, like lots of other people before me, had it crash on launch.
After digging around on the forums, I found that you can run OriginThinSetupInternal.exe to potentially fix the problem. Great right? Not quite...
As it turns out, that is the ONLY way I can get Origin to start.
My question is: what is different between the way the setup program runs Origin, and how Origin launches normally? Because whatever it is, IT NEEDS TO BE PERMANENT.
Also, EA, please, for the love of everything good in the world, please fix Origin if you're going to force people to use it to play games. Or at the very least, stop "fixing" it when it's not broken...

Hi @Goraxium
Make sure Time/Date is correctly set in your machine.
Ensure that your Firewall and/or Antivirus are not blocking the connection. The easiest way would be adding an exception for the Origin Client and your game to the exclusion list.Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports http://help.ea.com/en/article/connection-issues-with-origin/#1
Add antivirus exclusions/exceptions for specific files/folders Origin/game ,or/and file extensions origin.ex/game.ex from scanning.(very important to do )
Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2
NOTE if your issue persists perform a Clean Boot https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/FAQ/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
My Opinion is no more important or right than yours.I'm a gamer like you, trying to help you (i'm not an EA employee).

Talk about not reading the message properly... I can't let Origin run on start because it crashes.
I have to manually start Origin via the setup program, because that's the ONLY way I can get Origin to start without it crashing.

@Goraxium Make sure you don't have any MSI Gaming App, Riva Tuner or something like that installed in your machine. If you have this in your computer, you must uninstall them.
NOTE if your issue persists, you need to clear all files and folders related to the installation Origin.
-manually uninstall Origin http://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/
-run CCleaner http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/
-then go in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin -delete this Origin folder
-clear Origin cache https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/origin-my-games-list-is-blank
-delete temp files: open the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Search field or click in the Run option in the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Run field.Press Enter and a Temp folder should open. You can delete all files found in this folder, and if any files are in use, they can be skipped.
-now you have to go to your recycle bin and clean so there will no longer Origin exist as a file.
-restart your machine.
-install Origin as administrator ,very important to do https://www.origin.com/en-ie/download

@EA_DarkoI understand that, but there's no point in providing answers to questions that haven't been asked.
@yahel_1Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, I don't have any of those programs installed, and thanks to my nephew recently killing the power to my computer during an update, I was forced to reinstall Windows. You don't get a cleaner start than that. Unfortunately, the problem was still there, and my workaround (using the setup program) is the only solution I have.
In any case, I was only planning on installing this to play Battlefield 5. But that was then, and this is now. I don't do business with companies that associate themselves with racists, and damn sure as hell am not going to ignore the fact that EA has dismissed the obvious anti-white racist censoring as a "bug", when chat filters have words added to them manually. I took Soderlund's advice. I don't like it, so I'm not buying it. I cancelled my pre-order, and uninstalled Origin. I won't have any issues now.
