Issue with cancelling sims repair

[ Edited ]

I recently tried to repair my sims game but it stopped mid way through as there wasn’t enough space on my laptop. So I made some space and continued the download and it stopped making progress so I cancelled the repair and now it’s been cancelling for 2 days and won’t let me do anything. I deleted origin and tried reinstalling it and the sims is still not making any progress and still trying to cancel the repair. I’ve deleted heaps of stuff to make space yet nothing is working.

You can clear the Origin Cache by following the steps below @HayleyPuffett:

  1. Open your local hard drive.
  2. Macs have two library folders: a root level folder and a user level library folder (~). Follow the root level folder.
  3. Open the Library folder.
  4. You can either use the keys Command ⌘ + Shift + G or use Finder > Go > Go to Folder.
  5. Open the Application Support folder, then open the Origin folder.
  6. Delete the DownloadCache folder.
  7. Empty your Trash.
  8. Log in to the Origin client and check for your games in My Game Library

Let me know if it works.

That's an odd one @HayleyPuffett.

Can you go ahead and try clearing your Origin Cache to see if it makes a difference.

You can clear the Origin Cache by following the steps below:

  1. Completely log out and close down Origin
  2. Hold down the Windows key and R
  3. Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  4. Now open the Origin folder.
  5. Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one)
  6. Hold down the Windows key and R
  7. Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK
  8. This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder
  9. Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window
  10. Open the Local folder here
  11. Delete the Origin folder listed here
  12. Restart your PC and log back into Origin

If the issue remains can you then go ahead and ensure that you are running Origin with administrator rights: https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/connection-troubleshooting-advanced-pc/#2

Let me know how you get on.
