Installation require internet connection

All I want to do is install Origin and spend money on games. However when I try to install it it says there's no internet connection. I obviously have an internet connection. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling dozens of times, have allowed origin through firewall and windows defender, run it as admin etc. Nothing works. I'm running internet through an ethernet cable connected to a laptop.

Ok @TinyWorlds

Make sure Time/Date is correctly set in your machine.

Clear DNS cache https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/how-to-flush-dns-cache-for-windows/

Clear the browser cache: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clearing-your-browsers-cache

Clear hosts file http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034  (please do this step again)

Restart your machine.

NOTE if your issue persists try to reset (not restart) your modem, resetting your modem can fix gaming troubles,  "can't get on the Internet" problems, port issues, wireless issues and device conflicts.

I assume the download of the installer works.

Is Origin fully installed or do you get the error during installation? 

Could you provide a screenshot of the error message?
