If I buy Anthem from my local game store will it link to my Origin account?

I have some gift cards for my local game store and I was thinking of getting Anthem (PC Standard edition) with them. Will this link to my Origin account?

Hey @Noragen 

If you're going to purchase a physical copy of Anthem from your local store, there should always be a code inside the box, which you will be able to redeem on Origin, so the game will become linked to your EA account
