I updated my 2019 MacBook Pro to macOS Big Sur and now the Origin lo

★★★ Newbie

I updated my 2019 MacBook Pro to macOS Big Sur and now I can't log into Origin. I have deleted the download completely and re-installed it but it still won't work.

Someone please help!

@rebeckah_penn2 and @Fujigurl  Try running the Origin reset tool for macOS; it removes files left behind by a normal uninstall:

And make sure you don't have a proxy enabled.  Here's how to check:

@puzzlezaddict I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I've tried resetting it and it hasn't worked for me.

@Starfish0806  What happens when you try to open Origin?  Please also make sure you don't have a proxy enabled, as described in the second link above.

@luyerkac  Please do a clean uninstall of Origin, as described here:

https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/

Restart your computer, download a fresh copy of Origin (use Safari or Firefox), and install it.

If it still won't open, do another clean uninstall, then create a new admin user account on your computer and install Origin into that.  The username should contain only letters and numbers, no special characters, accents, etc.  Don't import any settings from your existing user account(s).

None of this worked for me. When I download origin now it has a circle with a line through it on the origin icon, indicating that it is not compatible with this version of MAC. When you click on the app it says that the app is not supported by this version of MAC os and that the developer needs to update the app.

@rndavis980 and @OreoBootsy  Please use this guide to clean uninstalling Origin to make sure there are no related files left on your computer:

https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/

Restart your computer and download a new copy of the Origin installer.  Here's the direct download link:

https://www.dm.origin.com/mac/download

Install Origin from that, and it should work.
