I cannot buy sims 4 games from my country, I get an error message.

I have tried everything to fix the issue. I bought Strangerville successfully when it came out but now I cannot buy even a stuff pack. It seems to be a regional issue because when I switch on my VPN and set it to Australia, it allows me to purchase the expansions from Australia. I have no problems with the forex transaction as I am allowed to purchase from overseas but my question is... Will it work? I do not want to spend over AUD50 and then the expansions does not work with my game. I am in South Africa

I have contacted the support helpdesk 4 times now and followed all their instructions. Using this VPN option is my only one. I do not know if this issue is only with purchasing Sims 4 expansions/game packs/stuff packs or if it is with purchasing all games.

What is the exact error message you're getting when you try to make the purchase and have you tried making the transaction through either the Origin website and Origin client?
