I can't login to origin on Mac

I used to be able to login to origin on my Mac perfectly fine, but now i cant. I keep getting a message saying "Could not connect to server, please try again in a few minutes" This has been going on for a few months now and I'd really like to get it fixed. I tried deleting and re-downloading it but it still wont work. Please help me (also, before it stopped working, it wouldnt let me go online, even when i was connected to WiFi) I know for a fact that my email and password is correct

Please run the Origin reset tool then try again.

THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME. I went to Target to buy the sims 4 get together mod, but when I got home, you could only install it online, which th client wasn’t letting me go online. I would click the “go online” button, but nothing would happen. So then I reset Origin to see if that would fix it, but whenever I try to login it says: Could not connect to server. Please try again in a few minutes. I hope somebody figures out an answer to this!

Which version of macOS are you running and are you running the latest version of Origin?

I have the macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6 and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve download and downloaded again the latest version of origin. I also tried resetting origin countless times but nothing happens...

Dear @Bluebellflora,

 I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH. The thing about the proxy settings was us allowing me to launch origin, and when I disabled them, you guessed it, it worked. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO FRIGGGIN MUUUUUUUCH!!!
