So I normally download my expansions from the CD version but a while back I ordered generations and downloaded it into my game and it worked fine with all the content included. I stopped playing the game for a while and have recently re-downloaded the game and noticed that this expansion was no longer in my sims 3 log of expansions. It now says that I have to rebuy it.

I have tried your solution and It keeps telling me there are no chat advisors available. Talk about a runaround. Three expansion packs for Sims 3 just GONE and no-one to talk to about it.

Can you ensure that you are following these steps exactly when trying to contact support:

Finally, you can choose to receive a callback or begin a chat.
If it does not work then you can use a Voice-Over-IP service like Skype or Google Voice and contact our UK support directly, it is best to set your location to the country you are contacting also. The UK support number is +44 203 0141818 and is available 9AM-9PM GMT, Monday through Saturday.
