You would need to locate the Application file in the game installation folder and make a shortcut of the .exe file. Example location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin or C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4

Doesn't work for me with Gatling Gears unfortunately. Running the exe (as well as attempting to launch the game from the games explorer [Win+R -> shell:games]) simply launches Origin (or brings it to front if already open). Only manually selecting the game and pressing "Play" launches it.

There is no Dragon Age exe file in the Dragon Age: Origins install folder.

Why not just make the option to set a desktop shortcut in the Origin app?
