Friends List Offline

★★★★★ Novice

For the past few months I've had the issue where Origin just cannot connect to the friends list. Ever. I've tried every fix given in the fourms, I've sent in tickets, nothing helps. I want to be able to play Battlefield 1 with my friends.

I've tried disabling my firewall, I've forwarded the ports, I've cleared the cache, at this point I just don't know what to do.

Heres an error report from the origin error reporter:

Hi @Sputnick587

Delete temp files: open the Start Menu and type %temp%  in the Search field  or click in the Run option in the Start Menu and type %temp% in the Run field.Press Enter and a Temp folder should open. You can delete all files found in this folder, and if any files are in use, they can be skipped.

Restart your machine.

Run the setup file Origin with Admin rights  http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-a-game-as-an-administrator/#2

Hmm @Sputnick587

Ensure that your Firewall and/or Antivirus are not blocking the connection. The easiest way would be adding an exception for the Origin Client and your game to the exclusion list.Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports http://help.ea.com/en/article/connection-issues-with-origin/#1

Add Antivirus exclusions/exceptions for specific files/folders Origin ,or/and file extensions origin.ex from scanning.(very important to do )

Over a week now with no official help. I paid good money for a game I can't enjoy.

EA DICE Team

Hey @Sputnick587,

Does it say in origin friends that you are offline and what happen when you click to go online, is there any form of error that you get?

Hi @EA_Atic, my friends list says "We can't connect you to your friends list or chat right now. Hang tight, we'll get you chatting with friends as soon as possible."

Origin otherwise works fine, I can browse the store and whatnot. Going offline then online works fine, but the friends list never connects. There are also no errors when I do this.

Even if I go into the browser version of Origin, I can search for a player, but it won't let me view their friends either. It just constantly loads, same as in the client.

I've done a little bit of testing, it's an internet issue on my end but I'm not sure where. On my phones 4g I can connect just fine, but switching it to wifi and this problem persists. Any thoughts?
