Error 20:99 when installing Origin client

Hi everybody,

I can neither install Origin on my PC nor on my laptop since 1 month ago, I always get the error 20:99. I've ben trying several solutions:

-Changing DNS + flushing as described in some threads of this forum.

-Turning off the firewall.

-Setting my local IP as DMZ in the router.

-Running as administrator.

-Installing an old version of the Origin client, which does no allow me to login.

None of them fixed the problem. I'm wondering whether it has to do with my ISP, or my public IP. Can anybody please help me?

Hey @ThundThund can you try a different network or connection to see if that makes a difference.

If you can, it would be great to set your mobile phone as a hot spot and connect using mobile data to see if you continue to see the same issue.

That worked, but I cannot depend on the network of my mobile phone. What can I do from here? May you check whether my IP (dynamic) is banned or something like that?

Hey @ThundThund, if it works on another network then the best thing to do is to speak with your ISP and explain the issue.

They should be able to assist with fixing the issue.

Thank you, so it has nothing to do with IP banning or something like that, right? (I read some people talking about that possibility in another thread)

It's unlikely to be related to anything like that @ThundThund.

The best thing to do is to speak with your ISP and see what they say.

Another thing that helped me was that when I searched the Origin installer seperately on the internet, I saw a pop-up modal with the country and preferred store option. When I set that and saved and then proceeded to download, the download and installation worked correctly. So, trying doing this if the ISP issue does not help.

Me and 5 friends got the exact same problem. Unless changing network doesn't work. 
We litterly never had problems with downloading any game. Why can't EA/Origin just fix their stuff...
