EA Account/key hacked

After a Punkbuster GUID ban I contacted Evenbalance and received confirmation from them that my account or game key had been hacked.

How is this possible if we are buying games via Origin?  Are Origin's servers open to hackers?

Could you advise me on how I can continue to play or purchase Battlefield games to play on Punkbuster servers?

Do we need to create new Origin accounts each time we are hacked?

I'd like to continue playing BF3 and purchase new BF games to play online.
