Downloaded Sims 4 Expansion-Install stuck on "resuming"

I downloaded Sims 4 Snowy Escape and waited for it to download and install, just as every other expansion pack has done. The game downloaded, but it is stuck on 'updating' at 38% (as shown in the attached screenshot). I have tried restarting, opening and closing origin, freed up a ton of space on the computer, and cleared my download cache.

 

I cannot find a way to contact EA or origin which seems like terrible customer service (but we already knew that). 

 

Hopefully one of you can help me, I cannot play anything via origin right now and I'm getting pretty annoyed.

Hey @HailsKitts, can you ensure that you are running Origin as administrator and that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

 

The ports to open are:

  • TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
  • UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.
