Command & Conquer and The Covert Operations not launching on Windows 10

Hi all,

I have an issue launching C&C and The Covert Operations on my WIN 10 PC.

I have installed the Origin game client, installed the game but when I try launch it, an Exploere window pops-up with "Launcher.exe" selected. After waiting a while and nothing happening, I have tried double-clicking "Launcher.exe" and still nothing happens. 

I have been online with Origin support and they have suggested 2 things:

- Downloading and running CCLEANER.exe

Makes me VERY nervous because it looks to be deleting tons of UNRELATED items, some of which govern the way I use my PC today without any issue

- Clean rebooting disabling all "non-windows" services

Again, making me very nervous since many of these services are unrelated to Origin and will fundamentally impact usability of my machine

Anyone else had this issue already and able to provide some TARGETED troubleshooting guides to help solve the problem? Searched the forums and was not able to find anything specific.
