Can I link my ea play account to steam?

I already have EA Play on Origin, and I wanted to know if I could link my Origin account so my steam account also had EA Play.

Hey @eddergris our membership is available on each platform for $4.99, or regional equivalent. There is no cross platform subscription at this time.

As such, if you wish to have EA Play on both Origin and Steam then you will need a membership on both.

Yeah i found that out trying to link it to my Xbox account. Usually don't game on console but thought i would check out a new console only title. That idea ended real quick. Really making me rethink the value of EA Play.

I've bought an EA Play subscription on Steam, then linked to my Origin account.
So these accounts now work as 1. After this I find out I have to buy the exact same service for the same linked accounts again?
How the f can you just give this as an answer? just buy it again? A big f you to us users.
